Product Review: Consonant Organic Foaming Face Wash
by Cassandra Carter
When it comes to trying out new products for my face, I always find that too many products dry out my skin in a not-so-good kind of way. This results in me going back to good ol’ H2O – nothing else.
You might remember the Q&A we did with Consonant’s CEO, Bill Baker, who shared a bit more about his products and how they came to be (you can read more here). This particular interview got me thinking about their products in a more logical approach – if a product is 100% natural with no added scents, perfumes, or anything else, could this be a much better match for sensitive skin than the other brands I’ve used before?
I ended up giving Consonant’s Organic Foaming Face Wash a try. I originally wanted to post this a few weeks ago, but I noticed that after about a week, my skin was beginning to react differently to the product and I was still able to use it on a regular day-to-day basis. I found that after just 2.5 weeks, my skin was smoother and the right kind of dry – my makeup would go on just as easily as it came off. The product itself is incredibly light and has no added smells – there is a subtle “clean” smell to it, but it mostly reminds me of crisp, fresh air. Without the added scents and oils (and other ingredients found in most brands), this product leaves your skin feeling clean – and only clean. There’s no residue or oil left behind. And the best part, you can use it on a daily basis without your skin feeling overly dry or over-washed. If you find your skin needs a bit of extra moisture, try using it every other day and pair it with their Ultra Moisturizing Organic Face Cream for dry skin – makes all the difference for those with naturally extra dry skin.
So what’s my overall thought on this product? Pretty darn good. It’s been a long time since I found a product that left my skin feeling as smooth as this one does and it falls within a budget-friendly price range. And, nother recommendation since colder weather is right around the corner, is checking out their Organic Body Lotion. It’s the perfect product to help prevent that dry winter skin and gives the rest of your body that extra bit of moisture it need during winter months.
